Economy versus company

A growing economy does not guarantee that every listed company will grow profits—or that every share is attractively priced. Costs, competition and expectations can change the result.

Look at the cash

For an individual business, compare reported profit with operating cash flow. Receivables, working capital, debt and related-party disclosures can add important context.

Small-cap and SME stories

A small business can grow quickly and still be difficult to trade. Lot sizes, limited liquidity, customer concentration and governance deserve as much attention as the growth story.

Where I start

Exchange announcements, annual reports and the company's financial statements. Social posts can flag a question worth exploring, but they are not a substitute for those documents.
